What are Messianic Jews?
Messianic Jews are, simply, Jews who accept Jesus as their savior while still retaining their Jewish identity. The process of conversion is one of repentance and does not include turning away from Jewish culture. Himself a Jew, Jesus originally came to save the nation of Israel (Matthew 10:5-6, 15:24) and said that salvation was from the Jews (John 4:22). The Hebrew name for Jesus is Yeshua ("Salvation"), transliterated into Greek as Iesous, and translated into English as Jesus. The Hebrew name for Messiah is Mashiach ("Anointed One"), transliterated into Greek as Christos. The Apostle Paul wrote that the gospel of Christ was first for the Jew, then for the Gentile (Romans 1:16) -- though once baptized, we are all one in him (Galations 3:28). Most of Jesus' immediate converts were of Jewish descent and were still practicing Jewish customs and traditions which they decided early on not to force on the Gentile converts (Acts 15:5-29). Once Christianity became a religion of the Gentiles, however, anti-semitic attitudes began to grow. With Evangelistic revivals in Christianity during the nineteenth century came a revival in Hebrew Christianity as well, now known as Messianic Judaism, of which nearly 100,000 members reside in the U.S. Many Jews have come to associate the term "Christian," first used to describe non-Jewish believers in Antioch (Acts 11:26), with anti-semitic beliefs and instead prefer the term "believer."
These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: "Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel."
(Matthew 10:5-6)
He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel." The woman came and knelt before him. "Lord, help me!" she said.
He replied, "It is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to their dogs."
(Matthew 15:24-26)

American Messianic Fellowship International
"In the beginning, what has become Christianity was an entirely Jewish phenomenon. The Messiahship of Yeshua was a debate within the Jewish community. As belief in Yeshua (whose name became "Jesus" in the Gentile world) spread and the church became predominantly gentile, measures were taken to divorce Christianity from its Jewish roots. At times the Jewish people were ignored, and at other times persecuted by those who claimed to follow Jesus. In 1881 the Pogroms began in Russia. The following year brought the "May Laws," which culminated in the expulsion of the Jews from Moscow. Mass emigration ensued. Over the next 50 years approximately two million Jews left Russia. Many of them ended up in Chicago. Beginning in November, 1887 an organization was founded in Chicago whose purpose was: "to promote the intellectual, social and religious welfare of all nationalities." Part of the initial work was helping Jewish immigrants learn English and develop the employment they would need in order to thrive in their new home. The man generally considered the founder of this new work, which at first was called the Hebrew Christian Mission and changed, in 1889, to The Chicago Hebrew Mission, and later American Messianic Fellowship, then AMF International, was one William E. Blackstone, the first general superintendent... We at AMF International fervently believe that God's love for the Jewish people is everlasting (Jer. 31:3) and that His promises are eternal. We take the covenant of Sinai at face value and believe that what God promised to Israel cannot be revoked or reassigned. We reject outright the unbiblical notion that God has rejected Israel in favor of the church. As the Christian Scriptures affirm in Romans 11 "God's gift and his call are irrevocable." (Romans 11:29 Our goal is to help Christians understand the Jewish roots of our faith and God's ongoing commitment to his Chosen People. We teach that anti-Semitism is inconsistent with Biblical faith. We "pray for the peace of Jerusalem" which includes her spiritual renewal as well as physical safety. Like Blackstone, our continuing desire is to demonstrate the love of Yeshua and whenever possible, to give evidence from the Scriptures of his Messiahship."
Chosen People Ministries
"The Grim Reaper. The Angel of Death. The Big Sleep. Whatever title or euphemism we assign to death, the reality remains the samea headlong plunge into the dark unknown. The time comes for us to turn our thoughts to God. Yet too often, the cares of this world have come between us and thoughts of God. Eventually, however, the day of reckoning will arrive. What comes next? Where will we be and what may we hope for? Judaism has no set teaching on the afterlife or even if it exists at all. The Orthodox teach that the dead will be raised and the righteous will enjoy Gods favor in the World to Come. Some Jewish people opt for reincarnation; others opt for nothing at all. Dennis Prager, a well-known writer on Jewish issues, quotes from the comments of a prominent Conservative rabbi that were offered at a graveside service: Judaism does not believe in a life after death. Rather, we live on in the good works we do and in the memories of those we leave behind. Is this all we can hope for? ...Faith in the Messiah is not only a faith to die withit is also a faith to live by. Jewish people all over the world are discovering this. The Hebrew Scriptures not only foretell a Messiah who will one day govern in righteousness and peace, but also a Messiah who has already come among us. Through faith in Him, we can take hold of the forgiveness and peace we need to live and die as the upright, free human beings we were created to be. Do you want to die with dignity? Then take hold of faith in Yeshua the Messiah. If you do, you will find yourself in Gods own embrace. Then, whatever may come, in life or in death, the promise of Psalm 23 will be yours. You will indeed dwell in the house of the Lord forever. "
International Federation of Messianic Jews
"As Internationals, Rabbi Levi and Rachelle Levi, his wife, both Sephardic Jews born in Colombia and Greece respectively, for years had a deep conviction in their hearts that the L-rd had placed a very particular call in their lives to reach our people for the Messiah wherever they might be found in this world. A very important priority of this International Ministry is the need to receive into our Jewish fold the thousands, and even millions, of those Jews known as "Marranos," who are descendants of Sephardic Jews, now scattered around the world from Spain to Portugal, and into all the Spanish and Portuguese speaking Nations. The number of these unrecognized Jews staggers the imagination if we would take the time to investigate and to find them. In Mexico, "Marranos" can be found in Monterrey and Guadalajara. "Marranos" are also found in Central America. In Colombia they can be located in Medellin, with the populatrion of two million, whose original founders were all Spanish Jews. They are found also in Cartagena, the regional headqurters of the Palace of the Inquisition as well as in Barranquilla and Bogota. Other large groups can be found in Brazil, Argentina, and Chile. In the United States, small groups of them are found in Texas and in New Mexico, and some in various islands in the Caribbean. The IFMJ has a very clear understanding that we as Jews, have been called to minister to all tribes of Israel scattered into the farthest corners of the earth."
International Messianic Jewish Alliance
"The International Messianic Jewish Alliance (lMJA) is the world wide fellowship of Jewish people who have accepted Yeshua (Jesus) as their Messiah. It carries out ministries through the work of its affiliated national alliances who unite their efforts to fulfill the aims of the international body. The International Alliance seeks to represent the common interests of Jewish believers throughout the world. The purpose of the International Alliance is to care for the spiritual and material welfare of all Jewish believers and to maintain within the Jewish people a witness to Yeshua the Messiah... Messianic Judaism is the term used to define a form of lifestyle and worship that fully identifies with Jewish customs and traditions while believing that Yeshua (Jesus) of Nazareth is the promised Messiah of the Jewish Scriptures. At the same time, Messianic Judaism holds most emphatically that it is part of the universal body of Messiah, the church, but claims the right to express itself, both in its daily life and worship style, in a way that agrees with its Jewish heritage.
Messianic Jews believe in maintaining a Jewish expression to their faith, therefore, they celebrate all biblical holidays (Passover, Succoth, Shavuot, etc.,) which the people of Israel were commanded to observe for all generations. Another characteristic of this movements is its love and support to the nation of Israel. Messianic Jews usually establish congregations for their worship, even though there are many cases in which Jewish believers in the Messiah adhere to a Messianic Jewish lifestyle while remaining formally affiliated to traditional churches . These Messianic congregations are fashioned after the early church of the "Brit Hadashah" (New Testament). Messianic Jewish congregations, which are sometimes called Messianic Jewish Synagogues, have certain characteristics: worship on the Sabbath, Davidic music and dance ,and many other Jewish traditions consistent with biblical Jewish traditions. It should be noted that, in full agreement with New Testament teachings, membership is open to both Jew and gentile."
Jews for Jesus
"This web site is one way we are celebrating three decades of ministry for the Lord under the banner of Jews for Jesus. We started with a handful of Jewish believers sharing their faith in Jesus on the campuses and streets of the San Francisco Bay Area in the early 70s. Today, Jews for Jesus is an international ministry with a staff of 214 spread out over eleven countries and twenty cities. Since we started, over 800 people have faithfully served on our staff and have helped to make the messiahship of Jesus an unavoidable issue to millions of individuals. And together, we rejoice over what God has done! We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are divinely inspired, verbally and completely inerrant in the original writings and of supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and life. We recognize the value of traditional Jewish literature but only where it is supported by or conformable to the Word of God. We regard it as in no way binding upon life or faith. We believe in one sovereign God, existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom, unbounded in power, and measureless in love; that God is the source of all creation and that through the immediate exercise of His power, all things came into being.
We believe that God the Father is the author of eternal salvation, having loved the world and given His Son for its redemption. We believe that Jesus the Messiah was eternally pre-existent and is co-equal with God the Father; that He took on Himself the nature of man through the virgin birth so that He possesses both divine and human natures. We believe in His sinless life and perfect obedience to the Law; in His atoning death, burial, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, high-priestly intercession and His personal return in power and glory. We believe that the Holy Spirit is co-equal and co-eternal with the Father and the Son; that He was active in the creation of all things and continues to be so in providence; that He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment and that He regenerates, sanctifies, baptizes, indwells, seals, illumines, guides and bestows His gifts upon all believers. We believe that God created man in His image; that because of the disobedience of our first parents at the Garden of Eden, they lost their innocence and both they and their descendants, separated from God, suffer physical and spiritual death and that all human beings, with the exception of Jesus the Messiah, are sinners by nature and practice. We believe that Jesus the Messiah died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; that all who believe in Him are justified, not by any works of righteousness they have done, but by His perfect righteousness and atoning blood and that there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. We believe that Israel exists as a covenant people through whom God continues to accomplish His purposes and that the Church is an elect people in accordance with the New Covenant, comprising both Jews and Gentiles who acknowledge Jesus as Messiah and Redeemer. We believe that Jesus the Messiah will return personally in order to consummate the prophesied purposes concerning His Kingdom. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost."
Menorah
"A Messianic Jewish resource and referral ministry about the Messiah, helping others to know Him, the Bible, Biblical Jewish roots of Christianity, Israel, Jesus (Yeshua), and God's plan of eternal redemption/salvation. Why Messianic Jews? Among the 14 million Jewish people there is a group of perhaps twenty or thirty thousand people, born Jews, who believe in the Torah and the rest of the Tenach and practice Jewish customs and religion. They also believe in Jesus. Some, if not most of them, prefer to call Him by His Jewish name, Yeshua. Although small in number, they are a vocal group, constantly challenging the Jewish spiritual and secular authorities with their presence, demanding recognition as Jews. It would be easiest for these Jewish believers, among whom is also the writer of these lines, to accept the advice of rabbinic leaders and put aside our belief in Jesus. The Jewish authorities work very hard to achieve it. Organizations and individuals spend their time and hundreds and thousands of dollars towards this end. Among the best known are the Peilim, Karen Yeladdenu, supported by the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Israel, and many more who do it as a full or part time job. Why do Messianic Jews resist? What lies behind their obstinancy, not only continuing to believe themselves but also spreading their faith to others?"
Messianic Bureau International
"Welcome to the organizational Internet site of Messianic Bureau International (MBI). Thank you for visiting. We pray this site and auxiliaries will help you become more familiar with Messianic Judaism, the Messianic restoration of Israel, and the Messianic Movement at large. It could open doors for your participation. We encourage you to join us in prayer for the Jewish people, for Israel, and for the soon coming of our Messiah Yeshua. We thank you also for praying for us. OUR THREE GREAT PILLARS OF FAITH: The Preeminence of Messiah Yeshua: Yeshua of Nazareth is Israel's Messiah and G-d Himself who came in human flesh; The Permanence of Torah: All G-d's commandments and covenants continue throughout all time; The Promises to Israel: All the prophecies and promises which G-d gave to Israel in the Holy Scriptures will come to fruition."
Messianic Jewish Alliance of America
"Just as the Jewish community is diverse in lifestyle and many practices, so are Messianic Jews. Some of our members are very Torah observant, similar in their practices to orthodox Jews. Others maintain a lifestyle that may be closer to Reformed, Conservative, or Reconstructionist Jews. Messianic Judaism is neither a denomination nor a culture, but MJAA members subscribe to a common Statement of Faith... That the BIBLE, consisting of the Tenach (Holy Scriptures) and the later writings commonly known as the B'rit Hadasha (New Covenant), is the only infallible and authoritative word of God. We recognize its divine inspiration, and accept its teachings as our final authority in all matters of faith and practice... God does have a Son (HaBen). The Son, called Yeshua (Jesus), meaning salvation, came to this world born of a virgin. The Son is God (Deity), and is worshipped as God, having existed eternally. This One is the promised Mashiach (Messiah) of Israel... In the Tenach, the Spirit of God came upon individuals during the times of our forefathers, like Moses, David, and the Prophets, for the specific purposes. In the New Covenant, the Messiah, Yeshua, promised His disciples that "the Comforter" would come to them after He was gone, described as the Spirit of Truth, who was with them and would be in them. Yeshua further declared that the Spirit of Truth, would guide us into all truth and would glorify Him - the Messiah - not Himself. He empowers us. He seals us. If we have not the Spirit, we are not His. He leads us and teaches us. His indwelling enables us to live a godly life. Acts 2:38 says, "Repent, be immersed, and receive the Holy Spirit." ...Man's only hope for redemption (salvation) is through the atonement made by the Messiah, resulting in regeneration by the Holy Spirit, which is the new birth. For by grace we are saved through faith, it is a gift of God (Eph. 2:8-9). We believe in the resurrection of both the redeemed and the lost: the former to everlasting life and the latter to eternal separation from God, a state of everlasting punishment... We believe in God's end-time plan for the nation of Israel and for the world. A central part of Messianic Judaism is the belief in the physical and spiritual restoration of Israel, as taught in the Scriptures. The greatest miracle of our day has been the re-establishment or rebirth of the State of Israel according to prophecy. We recognize that Jewish people (physical descendants of Abraham through Isaac and Jacob, whether through the mother's or the father's blood-line) who place their faith in Israel's Messiah, Yeshua, continue to be Jewish according to the Scriptures (Rom. 2:28-29). Gentiles who place their faith in Yeshua, are "grafted into" the Jewish olive tree of faith (Rom. 11:17-25) becoming spiritual sons and daughters of Abraham (Gal. 3:28-29). We observe and celebrate the Jewish Holy Days given by God to Israel, with their fulfillment in and through the Messiah Yeshua. We believe that true "Biblical Judaism," the faith of first century believers, which we seek to practice, acknowledges the continuity of faith in the one true God, revealed throughout the Scriptures, and ultimately manifested in God's Son, Yeshua the Messiah. We believe that salvation has always been "by faith," and that works of law, or righteous acts, have never saved anyone. We acknowledge that the New Covenant body of believers is composed of both Jews and Gentiles who have received Yeshua the Messiah as the Promised Redeemer. The "middle wall of partition" has been broken down and now we worship the God of Israel together."
Messianic Jewish Movement International
"Let me take this opportunity to share with you my vision for Messianic Jewish Movement International (MJMI). With God's leading and anointing, MJMI will work to share Yeshua's (Jesus') message of love, hope and peace. I believe MJMI is being used by God as a significant part of "His Team" to help bring about worldwide Jewish evangelism. In cooperation with other believers in Yeshua, we will work to spread the Good News of the risen Messiah of Israel. Biblical prophecies concerning the last Days are rapidly coming to pass. We believe God would have us rescue His people from nations where they are threatened by persecution and assist in their aliyah to Israel... before it is too late! With God's help and guidance and the participation of our ministry partners, we will relocate as many Jewish people as possible from the former Soviet Union to their Homeland Israel. MJMI also will: provide people and materials to help educate believers in Yeshua on how to evangelize Jewish people worldwide; provide people and materials to disciple Jewish and non-Jewish people worldwide; serve as a unifying force in the movement between and among all Messianic Jewish people and organizations; and minister to all who contact MJMI."
Religious Movements Homepage - Messianic Jews
"The MJAA was founded in 1979. However, many Messianic Jews believe that Messianic Judaism was founded upon the birth of Jesus of Nazareth. During the first century A.D., literally hundreds of thousands of Messianic Jews flourished. In addition, many Messianic Synagogues were scattered throughout the Roman Empire and beyond. The Messianic Jewish Alliance of America, or the MJAA, was founded upon a threefold principle. First, to promote a clear and visible testimony to the fact that there resides a substantial and growing movement of Jewish people who believe that Yeshua, or Jesus of Nazareth, is the Jewish Messiah and Savior of the World. Second, to bring together, into one coherent organization, Jewish and non-Jewish people of like faith and mind with the shared vision for the Jewish revival. Third, and most significantly, to introduce the Jewish people to Yeshua, the Messiah. The MJAA believes that the Bible, consisting of the Tanach, or the Old Covenant Scriptures, and the B'rit Chadasha, or the New Covenant Scriptures, is the inspired and authoritative Word of God. The MJAA believe in one God as declared in the Sh'ma (Deuteronomy 6:4), who is Echad, or a compound unity and eternally existent in three forms: God, the Father, God, the Son, and God, the Holy Spirit. They believe in Yeshua, or Jesus, as the Messiah, in coordination with His deity, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension, and His future return in power and glory. The MJAA believe that the Bible is the infallible Word of God, as described in the section of Sacred or Revered Texts. Finally, they believe in God's eternal covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Therefore, the MJAA stand in support of the Jewish people as well as the State of Israel, and hold fast to the Biblical heritage of their Jewish forefathers. The number of Messianic Jews in the United States numbers in the tens of thousands. Some people suggest the number to be as high as 100,000. Synagogues are springing up in almost every major city across the country, representative of the tremendous growth of this movement. The MJAA is the largest association of Messianic Jewish believers in Yeshua, or Jesus, in the world. They are affiliated with Messianic Jewish Alliances in 15 other countries, including Israel. Over the last 1500 years, Jews have been persecuted by those who called themselves "believers" in Jesus. They have persuaded Jewsthat to follow Yeshua is to denounce the Jewish faith, and therefore become non-Jewish. The MJAA feels that the Adversary, or Satan, has used this interpretation of the gospel to prevent the Jewish people from accepting Yeshua as their promised Leader and Savior. Therefore, the MJAA feels it is critical and essential that they exist as an organization to bear witness to the Messiahship of Yeshua."
ReligiousTolerance.org - Messiac Judaism
"Messianic Judaism is a religious movement, whose membership is primarily made up of ethnic/cultural Jews. They differ from Reform, Conservative, Orthodox and Ultra-Orthodox Jews over their beliefs about the Messiah. This difference is sufficient for Morton Klein, the President of the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA), to have allegedly declared that a Messianic Jew is a "former Jew." There are many references in the Hebrew Scriptures to the coming of a Messiah who would inspire Jews in Israel to rise and throw off oppression from occupying military powers. Most Jews believe that the Messiah has yet to come; Messianic Jews believe that Yeshua of Nazareth was the expected Messiah. (Yeshua is called Jesus Christ by Christians. Messianic Jews consider themselves to be fully Jewish. They maintain a "Jewish lifestyle of faith....[they] celebrate all of the biblical holidays (i.e. Passover, Succot, etc) as well as many of the customs which are consistent with the Scriptures..."
Rick A. Ross Institute - Messianic Jews
Associated Press/August 14, 2002: New York -- America's Roman Catholic bishops and leaders of Reform and Conservative Judaism have issued a joint statement affirming that Jews should not be targeted for conversion to Christianity. The bishops have made similar declarations in the past and the international church has largely dropped the practice of evangelizing Jews. This latest document, ``Reflections on Covenant and Mission,'' grew from more than two decades of biannual meetings between the U.S. religious leaders. "While the Catholic church regards the saving act of Christ as central to the process of human salvation for all, it also acknowledges that Jews already dwell in a saving covenant with God,'' the document reads. "Jews are also called by God to prepare the world for God's kingdom.'' Participants in the ongoing dialogue are the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops' Committee for Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs and the National Council of Synagogues. That group represents the Reform movement's Central Conference of American Rabbis and Union of American Hebrew Congregations and the Conservative movement's United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism and the Rabbinical Assembly of Conservative Judaism.
Saltshakers Messianic Community
"Saltshakers is run by a Jew and a Gentile. We both believe in Yeshua Ha Mashiach (Jesus the Messiah) and accept Him as our Lord and Saviour. We are aware of the need for the Church to learn more of the Jewishness that was lost in the early centuries of Christianity. We are also very aware of the need for Jewish people to find salvation in Yeshua. While aware of the varied views and positions of our Christian and Messianic brothers and sisters, we believe in balance and tolerance and our eyes are fully set on the passage in Pauls's letter to the Ephesians. "For he himself (Yeshua) is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace, and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility" Eph 2:14-16. We are simple folk really with a simple vision. We exist to teach the Church and reach the Jewish people."
The Society for the Advancement of Nazarene Judaism
"We believe that YHWH is one (ECHAD). We believe that YHWH reveals Himself in many ways, characteristics and sefirot, including those of Father, Word (Memra), and the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit). We believe that the Bible, which includes both the Tanakh [Old Testament] and the "New Testament" is the divinely inspired, infallible Word of ELOHIM in its original texts and manuscripts. We believe that Y'shua (Yahushua) HaMashiach has come and with great joy we anticipate his return, and even though he may delay, nevertheless we think about his return every day. We believe he was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life in accordance with the Torah, performed miracles, was crucified for the atonement of his people in accordance with the Scriptures, was bodily resurrected on the third day. ascended to heaven and currently sits at the right hand of YHWH. He will return at the end of this age to usher in the Kingdom of ELOHIM on earth and will rule the world from Jerusalem with his people Israel for one thousand years. We believe that through the death of Messiah, because of his blood covenant with us, we receive salvation by way of inheritance. This salvation comes by faith through grace alone and is not earned by Torah observance. The Torah of Truth the Almighty gave to His people, Israel, through Moshe. He will not exchange it nor discard it for another until heaven and earth pass away. We believe that Torah observance is mans moral obligation and expression of love to YHWH."
Teshuvah Gate
"Teshuvah.com was founded in 1994 in response to requests for information from people all over the world who had seen the Torah-Observant web site of Knesset HaShuvim congregation in Bowie Maryland near Washington D.C. The congregation was founded by Yeshayahu and Miryam Heiliczer, who at the time had been caught up in the "Hebrew Christian" movement, and were directors of Covenant of Love Messianic Outreach Ministries. Even though it started as a "Messianic" site, Teshuvah.com has always been an educational ministry whose primary message is that the Torah was given by Gd as His perfect standard for His people, and therefore should be followed to the best of our ability. It became more and more clear as we journeyed away from Christian Messianism and back towards Torah-true Judaism that there was no way to follow and teach a religion whose faith was built on "a good story that millions of people have believed in." Rather it became more important to get back to the beginning, to the standards of the Creator of the universe. Some of what is written in the "New Testament" may be historically accurate, but none is proveable, and much of it contradicts the Torah. But it is interesting that even among those who believe in the New Testament, what seems to be the most important teaching of Y'shua/Jesus is often ignored. In Matthew 5:17-19 it is written that Y'shua/Jesus said: Don't think that I have come to abolish the Torah or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to complete. Yes indeed! I tell you that until heaven and earth pass away, not so much as a yud or a stroke will pass from the Torah not until everything that must happen has happened. So whoever disobeys the least of these mitzvot and teaches others to do so will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever obeys them and so teaches will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven." (CJB) So the path of Torah-observant Messianic Judaism, also called Nazarene Judaism, for anyone with an open-mind and a desire to find truth, must lead back to the original - to Torah and to Orthodox Judaism. Teshuvah Gate is no longer a "Messianic" or "Nazarene" site. It is an Orthodox Jewish site. The owner of this site no longer believes in the historicity of the "New Testament," nor that Y'shua/Jesus is/was the Messiah."
The Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations
"All congregations and fellowships who seek membership in the UMJC shall commit themselves to the following standards:
- We believe the Bible is the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of G-d.
- We believe that there is one G-d, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- We believe in the deity of the L-RD Yeshua, the Messiah, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
- We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
- We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the believer is enabled to live a godly life.
- We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
- We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in the L-RD Yeshua, the Messiah.
- We believe in the process of discipline and conflict resolution taught in Matthew 18:15ff, as applicable to all congregants and leaders.
- As Jewish followers of Yeshua, we are called to maintain our Jewish biblical heritage and remain a part of our people Israel and the universal body of believers. This is part of our identity and a witness to the faithfulness of G-d."
YashaNet
"YashaNet is dedicated to helping followers of Yeshua become conformed to the Image of G-d, and grow in intimacy with Him, through a proper understanding of the role of G-d's Torah in their lives. YashaNet exists to: Reveal the truth of the Torah and its role in the life of the believer -- namely to lead people to an understanding of; who G-d is, how we are to be conformed to His image, and how we can grow in our relationship with Him; Help to correct the misunderstandings and misinterpretations of the Torah, Tenakh, and the books of what is commonly called the "New Testament."; Educate people about the Jewishness of Yeshua and the writings commonly called the books of the "New Testament."; Re-establish the foundation upon which faith in Yeshua the Messiah stands; correcting the disassociation from the Judaic culture, teachings and framework on which faith in Yeshua rests; Demonstrate through examination of scripture and current events the significance of the Jewish people and the Land of Israel to G-d and His eternal plan."
"You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."
(John 4:22-24)
